Galbani® Flaming Hot Fresh Mozzarella Bites

INGREDIENTS

2 cups Spicy/crunchy cheese snacks, crushed
1 cup All-purpose flour
½ tsp. Garlic powder
½ tsp. Paprika
2 Large eggs
1 tbsp. Milk
8 slices Galbani Thin Sliced Fresh Mozzarella
  Kosher salt, to taste
  Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  Vegetable oil, for frying
  Hot honey, for drizzling

METHOD

  1. Place the crunchy cheese snacks in a plastic zipper bag and crush with a rolling pin, or pulse in a food processor until fine. Transfer the crumbs to a shallow bowl.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the flour with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  3. In a third bowl, whisk the eggs and milk together until smooth.

  4. Coat each Fresh Mozzarella slice in the seasoned flour, shaking off any excess. Dip each slice into the egg mixture. Then, press the coated slices into the crushed cheese snacks until fully coated.

  5. In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil to 350 degrees F.

  6. Carefully place the coated Fresh Mozzarella slices into the hot oil and fry for 1–2 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Be sure to avoid over-melting the cheese.

  7. Remove the Fresh Mozzarella slices from the oil and let them drain on a paper-towel-lined plate.

  8. Arrange the crispy Fresh Mozzarella slices on a serving plate and drizzle generously with hot honey. Serve immediately.
