Galbani® Fabulously Fresh Brownies

INGREDIENTS

8 slices Galbani Thin Sliced Fresh Mozzarella
1 cup All-purpose flour
¾ cup Cocoa powder, unsweetened
1 tsp. Baking powder
½ tsp. Salt
1 cup Butter, melted
1 cup Granulated sugar
1 cup Brown sugar
3 Large eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla extract
1½ cups Walnuts, chopped
  Dulce de leche sauce or caramel sauce, optional, for drizzling
  Flaky sea salt, for topping
   

METHOD

  1. Take the Fresh Mozzarella out of the refrigerator and bring to room temperature.

  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9”x13” baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.

  3. In a bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  4. In a separate large mixing bowl, whisk the butter, sugar, and brown sugar together until smooth.

  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next egg. Then add vanilla extract.

  6. Gradually fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. Then, fold in the walnuts.

  7. Pour about 70 percent of the batter into the pan and smooth it into an even layer.

  8. Add a layer of Fresh Mozzarella slices over the brownie batter, ensuring the slices cover the surface.

  9. Top with remaining brownie batter, spreading it evenly over the Fresh Mozzarella to fully encase them.

  10. Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean, with a few moist crumbs attached. Be careful not to overbake, so the brownies stay fudgy.

  11. Cool completely in pan before removing parchment paper.

  12. Heat a small amount of dulce de leche in the microwave until it’s pourable. Drizzle it generously over the cooled brownies. Sprinkle flaky sea salt on top. Slice and serve.
